Hi All,
Quite a bit of progress over the past week.
I've started cutting and de-lugging the 81 850 frame I'm going to use for the new motor.
Also started test fitting the bracing (under guidance of my friend the engineer/bike builder)

Below is the first lot of bracing, this part being designed to better tie the swingarm pivot area to the upper frame rails.
Tube is 22mm OD but with thin 1.2mm wall. We are going to gas weld the bracing in place, we agreed it would be stronger/safer than my mig welding.
I've also removed the rear tank mount and will re engineer this as I'm thinking I will raise the tank 25mm front and rear to allow better airflow over the engine and also for looks so the head stock doesn't sit so high above the tank.

Next step will be bracing the front frame down tubes to the upper frame rails.

The good thing is, so far the bracing I've added weighs less than the bits I've cut off so lighter and stronger.... sweet
