For post classic racing the regs here are very similar to your NZPCRA rules except that that here we're limited to 18" wheels, max 4" rear, no max for front.
Slicks, cut slicks and wets are banned (Avon AM22/23 are universally used pretty much) as are flatslide carbs & 4 pot calipers.
As I said the one advantage here is the fork size, but I think I'd prefer wider, slick shod 17" wheels over the forks :-)

It's true that a lot of post-classic road bikes here go for modern components.
I think this is the best of both worlds - the soul & character of an old air-cooled engine with the comfort, efficiency & reliability of modern bikes.
If this art is done correctly the results will be sublime - this is what I hope to achieve with mine in the long run.
