It's the dead of winter in Michigan and there is nothing better to do than work on our bikes and plan for the upcoming season.

For the past two years, I attended an XS1100 rally in North Carolina. This last year it was the 15th anniversary of the rally, and it was decided the rally should be expanded to target all Yamaha bikes 25 years and older (this means you!).

I have to say, this rally has been one of the biggest highlights of my life. The venue is amazing, with the breathtaking scenery and un-ending curves that can (if you want them to be) among the most technically challenging in this part of the world. It's chance to enjoy camaraderie and ride with friends at any pace that suits you.

We have had some XS70s and XS850 appear in the last couple of years. Two years ago we had the fellow member that landed an XS750 with 110 original miles! Last year I remember a fully dressed XS850 that was a joy to see.

We want to get the word out early to our Triple community. We have the Iron Horse lodge mostly to ourselves the last weekend in September, and the rooms, bunks, and campsites will fill up quickly.

You owe it to yourself to send a message to XSSEinfo@gmail.com and obtain a flyer with the relevant information.

...Or you can PM me with your e-mail address if you want me to send a copy of the flyer.

I'm on the fence for this year. We'll see what the calendar looks like.

My room is reserved, and I hope to see you, Ian, and Jerry and the rest of you!

We had 62 bikes last year.
